The Black and Decker NHT518, 18 volt, Cordless Hedge Trimmer has met all my expectations. I was able to complete all my trimming in about one-third the time I spent with a corded trimmer. It did a wonderful job, and was powerful enough that it never jammed. Not having to lug around the cord, and fight to keep it plugged into the unit, saved so much time. With no cord, the unit is very, very maneuverable. Also, I will save money each year on not replacing sliced cords. In short, I am very pleased with my purchase.

Hedge Trimmer

Don't have a hedge at all. Using the trimmer for attacking tall
weeds in the garden and the trimmer does a great job of it without the noise and smell of a gasoline powered trimmer.

Another good B&D cordless tool

The trimmer is well designed, light weight, and easy to use. It can be used at different angles and cuts the size branches promised.

DEWALT DW6913 Universal Edge Guide with Dust Collection

The micro-adjustment sets this guide apart from others in its price range. It’s easy to adjust with a turn, and it’s marked clearly in white, so it’s easy to read. Setup is a breeze, and we got great results. Our favorite feature is the dust collection port, which, when hooked up to a standard shop vac, really kept the sightline clear of chips and curls. Construction is sturdy. If you don’t have an edge guide in your shop, this one’s definitely worth considering. Its virtues: easy setup, nice fine-tuning mechanism, accuracy and clean chip removal. Item great/amazon service not great

I'm sure the guide will work as advertized--once I have it. Ordered it in May, with the website indicating it was in stock and would ship immediately. It's now been four weeks and the latest email is that it'll be another two to three weeks before it ships--putting delivery into July.

I'm sure this review is a waste of my time because it'll never get posted.

Well worth the money

I purhcased this a few weeks ago from Amazon. I played around on scrap while getting the hang of it. It is easy to setup and use. I used it making some fluted trim and the vac port worked ok when working near the edge but hooking the shop vac directly to the Dewalt plunge router worked better. All in all well worth the money.

Review of DeWalt universal edge guide

I received the edge guide a few days ago and used it to complete the mortising for the hanging brackets of my daughter's bed that I recently completed. I felt that the setup was a snap and it is easy to use. Prior to using the guide I made a few practice cuts so that I could get a feel for the adjustment and accuracy of the edge guide. Given how inexpensive this edge guide is, I believe it works great and have no complaints.

I can't complain

The bag is easy to attach, remove and empty - that's what probably matters the most I guess. On the downside the bag is a bit small (my lawn is not big, but still I need to empty it once in between. I cut the grass every 7-10 days). The side bag attaches to a separate arm on my B&D mower. Not only that it looks awkward and ugly when attached, but it also gets in way of almost anything. I have learned to live with that.

Reasonable Expectations

The bag itself seems well constructed, is easy to attach, and easy to empty. It's a little smaller than the bag you may be accustomed to if you have been using a gas powered mower. Since it is used on a side discharge mower, B&D has elected to use a separately attached side support arm that seems a little awkward, but does the job well enough.

grass catcher

Since my lawn mower only accepts a side grass catcher I of course had to choose this item. I am happy that I was able to purchase this item from you, but I wish my mower could accept a back grass catcher because this one sticks out and gets in the way of anything that I have to get near, such as the house or a plant, etc. I would have to say that I am otherwise happy with my purchase.

Troy-Bilt Gas Trimmer 25CS

The trimmer is easy to start and manuver. However, it has some vibration which leaves your arms tired after use. The line is thick enough so that it does not wear out quickly. Overall, I am satisfied with this product.

OK trimmer but too heavy

I should have looked more carefully at the weight of this trimmer before I ordered it because it is very much heavier than my old one without having any more power. In fact I think it has a little less power because the motor strains and slows at cutting thin but moderately high grass, which my previous trimmer cut easily. This trimmer is heavy enough so that I had to rig a shoulder strap in order to use it. Also, it is a little too long for me, so that I cannot extend my arms when I use it, making it even more difficult to carry. I would not advise a short person to get this. It does start easily and everything works smoothly. For the money it is not bad but you should be fairly strong and tall or you will not be happy with this. (I am 5'4")
I also was told on my email purchase confirmation that it would not be delivered for 2 months. I emailed amazon, and within a day they replied that the email was wrong, and that the item would be delivered in 3 weeks(it was), and they gave me free 2 day shipping for my trouble. I have always found them to be terrific about taking care of any problem.

Item great - amazon dropped the ball

Troy Bilt is known for quality products and it should go without saying that this trimmer is a great item. I especially like the quick connect system that allows for removing of the trimmer and addition of other tools.

When I ordered this product Amazon said it wouldn't ship until late August. I emailed them and said I didn't want to wait 2 months. Somehow, magically, they pulled one off the moon and shipped it. When the delivery company called to arrange a time to drop it off, I said I already told Amazon that I would refuse delivery so send it back. Then I emailed Amazon AGAIN and told them it was coming back and that I wanted a refund on my credit card yesterday or sooner. Overall, it was just a hassle but Amazon did the right thing, in the end.
